2000 Challenge

The OzHPV Challenge, not to be confused with the more recent 6 hour Challenge, has now been held ten times starting in 1990 and every time it seems to get better, in the quality of competition, vehicles and the events. Check out the past history page.

11th–12th November: This year the challenge was held in Shepparton, Victoria, about 200 k north of Melbourne at the Driver Education Centre of Australia (Deca) in Shepparton. The change in venue brought fresh enthusiasm to the event, and a chance for the Canberra crew to relax and participate in the event for a change. The hope was to reach a wider public at this year's event.

Our Sponsors

Gold

  • Ian Sims from Greenspeed was our major "Gold" sponsor for this event. This means that the largest cost of running the event in Shepparton (hire of the Deca course) was met and had naming rights to the event. Greenspeed OzHPV Challenge 2000.

  • MR Components was a supporting "silver" sponsor donating $500 and getting naming rights to the shopping race & Criterium.

Bronze

  • Wayne Kotzur donated $200 for running costs.
  • Trisled sponsored the twin drags race.
  • Velocity was a "Bronze" style sponsor, donating Rims, water bottles and bottle cages to be used as prizes. Velocity are most supportive of HPV's and HPV racing and deserve your support.
