Software tools

Giles Puckett's world famous Tube Mitering Software, and his chainring patterns.
Builders of recumbents and especially streamliners sometimes find themselves in need of Really Big Chainrings. Here is an article and a series of JPEG images to help you make your own.

FelixCAD LT - Comprehensive Windows CAD program, and it's free (to the first million licences). "FelixCAD LT, where nearly 300 Powerful 2D drawing and editing commands can be used to create professional quality designs from scratch, or to edit billions of existing designs saved in industry standard DWG®, DXF® and FLX® file formats."

BikeCAD is an online parametric CAD tool for bicycle frame design. The Bicycle Forest has created several variations of this program to accommodate specific designs and tasks such as recumbents, full suspension, tandems, and wheel building. This collection of java applets can generate DXF files of a variety of bicycle configurations including short wheelbase recumbents.
